COMMENTARY
This statement appears as a paradox. One would think that in a 'Material Age' you would want ‘material power’ i.e. money, consumer goods etc... to succeed. However, the statement states the opposite. It states that without ‘Spiritual Power’ you're in trouble! How can that be?
In accordance with metaphysical principle ‘Spirit’ dominates ‘Matter’ – it is antecedent to/comes before 'Matter.' However, the above statement goes further, since it is making more than just a metaphysical/philosophical statement – it is making a statement of 'practical utility'/use. It is saying - that without ‘Practical Spirituality’ – you are in trouble! However with it you will rule over ‘Matter’ - in all its forms and illusory guises - 'Maya' - the ‘material world,’ you will rule as a ‘King or Queen.’
