INTRODUCTION

​

The 'mal-aphorisms' of SOTI, represent the 'counterpart' of the SOTI Aphorisms.  These are contained in 2 principle works - "The Transcendence of Darkness" and "The Book Of The Juju." 

 

However, it must be said, that the latter - "The Book Of The Juju" was improperly placed in the category of 'mal-aphorisms,' base principally upon, the racist approach to African religion, adopted by Western esoteric scholarship and the unfortunate association of that particular work - "The Book Of The Juju" with the "Cult of the Ade Adelaja." 

 

In truth, the concept of 'The Book Of The Juju,' was simply the African expression of what the west term Pagan 'religious practice,' and thus became, an easy and apt target, for such prejudice. 

 

Therefore, really "The Book Of The Juju," should not have been classified within the category of the 'mal-aphorisms' of SOTI - and really should have simply been classified as "A Treatise on African Religion, Magic, Culture & Tradition."  However, this mis-categorisation, despite efforts by its author Oladipo Adegboyega Adelaja, has persisted.

It is hoped that the presentation of the two works here - "The Transcendence Of Darkness" and "The Book Of The Juju" - will go somewhat, to reducing the pernicious impact, this mis-categorisation has had, upon the latter work. 

 

Both works can be found in SOTI Collected Works, by Oladipo Adegboyega Adelaja.

'MAL-APHORISMS' OF SOTI  - DEFINITION

The 'mal-aphorisms'  of SOTI, are the 'counterpart' to the 'aphorism' within SOTI and The Science Of Abstract Consciousness.  So - everything the 'aphorism' is, the 'mal-aphorism, is, its 'opposite.'
